Clean-Up Program Sweeps Into Boro Park
A street-cleaning program will sweep through the commercial corridors of Boro Park every day starting this week and continuing through the end of June, Councilman David Greenfield announced Tuesday.
Greenfield said the program is funded with money he allocated to the Midwood Development Corporation and will cover 13th Ave., 16th Ave. and 18th Ave.
If local businesses cooperate, the Brooklyn Democrat said, the program may expand next year.
“Boro Park is a neighborhood of small businesses,” Greenfield said. “Most store owners work hard to keep their shops clean. Unfortunately, busy streets and heavy foot traffic combined with everyday litter make that job tough.”
