Port Authority OKs Wage Hike for Airport Workers
The Port Authority on Wednesday raised wages for workers at its New York and New Jersey airports, including JFK, LaGuardia and Newark Liberty, The Associated Press reported. Workers who clean planes, move baggage and man concession stands will now get a $1 hourly wage increase and a raise to $10.10 per hour next year. That amount is what President Obama promoted as a nationwide minimum wage during his State of the Union address earlier this year.
