Molotov Cocktail Thrown At Boro Park Store

NEW YORK (AP/Hamodia) —

The NYPD arrested a suspect who tossed a Molotov cocktail inside a mini-mart in Boro Park, injuring a store clerk.

It occurred at a 24-hour store on Fort Hamilton Parkway and 39th Street just before 2 a.m. Wednesday. The suspect, Charles Diaz, a Hispanic male, had been seen arguing with the clerk inside the store about an hour before the attack. Police released a video showing a man in a hoodie lighting a bottle on fire and throwing it inside, setting off an explosion in one of the aisles.

The clerk’s hair and jacket caught fire, but a co-worker used buckets of water to put out the flames, and the clerk was not seriously hurt.

Diaz is being held in the 66th precinct for attempted murder.
