NY Ethics Panel: $210M Spent Lobbying Last Year
New York’s ethics commission said in its 2013 report that $210 million were spent on state and local lobbying last year, The Associated Press reported. The Joint Commission on Public Ethics says its enforcement cases resulted in more than $450,000 in fines. Top lobbyists included tobacco companies, teachers’ unions and hospital groups.
