Foreign Ministry Strike Settled
The Foreign Ministry strike, which lasted two weeks and shut down Israeli diplomatic services across the globe, came to an end on Wednesday, as a new wage agreement was signed between the Ministry employees and the Finance Ministry.
According to the agreement, wages of Israeli diplomats will be determined by an objective mechanism used in OECD countries, and in accordance with the price of living in each country.
The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday evening that also included financial incentives for work in countries considered hardship assignments, an accelerated promotional ladder, and pension improvements.
Ministry employees were expected to return to work immediately.
