Buffalo Crews Find 1920 Time Capsule Under Statue
Construction crews in Buffalo have uncovered a 1920 time capsule built into the foundation of a Spanish-American War monument, The Associated Press reported. The box, which was opened Friday, held eight newspapers from May 29, 1920, along with the first annual report of the city Planning Committee, a 48-star American flag and some other items. The city’s population at the time was more than 506,000 people. It’s around 260,000 now.
