NYPD Chief Calls Police Stations ‘Deplorable’

NEW YORK

Police Chief William Bratton told a City Council hearing Friday that conditions in many of the city’s aging precinct stations were “deplorable.” Many of the 76 precincts are in desperate need of plumbing, electrical and other upgrades after “a century of neglect,” with some lacking air conditioning.
