Town Official Admits Stealing $460K in Quarters

A former Ridgewood, N.J., inspector pleaded guilty Wednesday to stealing $460,000 in quarters from the parking meter collection room over the course of 25 months, The Record reported. In return, prosecutors will recommend that Thomas Rica receive five years’ probation and pay $200,000 in restitution. Rica was not authorized to be in the room but would enter to fill his pockets with money.
