Hospitals May Be to Blame for NYC Measles Cases

NEW YORK

Medical facilities may be partly to blame for a rare outbreak of measles over the past several weeks, Deputy Health Commissioner Dr. Jay Varma told The New York Times. Investigators are looking into whether some of the 20 confirmed cases were exposed to the virus in hospitals or doctors’ offices. He said there they were not quarantined as quickly as they should have been.
