Hospital Warns of Possible Blood Contamination
A Long Island hospital sent out 4,000 letters to patients recommending they be tested for blood-borne illnesses due to an insulin pen that may have been reused, Newsday reported. South Nassau Hospital said no one was seen reusing the insulin reservoir, but a nurse was overheard saying it was all right to do so. The letter was out of an “abundance of caution.”
