Tappan Zee Entrance Ramp to Close Until 2018

The entrance ramp to the northbound Tappan Zee Bridge from Route 9 will be closed starting next Monday until 2018 to facilitate construction on the new bridge, the Journal News reported. Officials are confident it won’t produce the kind of traffic jams that happened when the ramp was closed during three nights in December. They blamed a snowstorm, a truck fire and other problems for that miles-long backup.
