NYPD to Arm Officers With Tablets

NEW YORK

NYPD chief William Bratton said Tuesday he wants to arm officers within several months with tablet computers to link them while on patrol to “real time crime information,” The Associated Press reported. That would allow them to quickly look up the content of 911 calls, arrest records and other data. The department is developing a mobile version of an application cops already use on desktops.
