Deal on Domino Sugar Site Adds 700 Affordable Units

NEW YORK

Mayor Bill de Blasio on Monday announced an agreement to redevelop the Domino Sugar site in Williamsburg, which will increase by 700 units the number of affordable housing apartments. The units will cover a range of incomes, including a “significant number” sized for families. Unlike prior proposals, all of those units will be permanently affordable. Work begins in December 2014.
