Court Approves Deal on Troubled Hospital

NEW YORK -

A plan to find a new operator for Long Island College Hospital and keep it in operation has been approved by the court Tuesday, WCBS reported. The deal calls for an expedited bidding process to find a new owner and will allow SUNY to cease operating LICH by May. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the deal last week, saying LICH has been losing an “unsustainable” $13 million a month.
