Suffolk Asks CPR Trainees to Use App

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. -

Long Island residents who have a heart attack may have a better chance of survival thanks to a new initiative, CBS reported. Suffolk County is asking residents with CPR training to download an app called PulsePoint on their smartphones. When a call goes out for a cardiac arrest, anyone within 400 feet who has the app will get an alert. Several hundred people already have signed up.
