Mayor Wants to Stay in Office Until He’s Sentenced
The mayor of New Jersey’s capital said in his legal filing Monday that he should be allowed to remain in office until he’s sentenced on corruption charges. Trenton’s Tony Mack is fighting state efforts to oust him since a convicted person cannot hold public office, but he claims a new trial will overturn the conviction. A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
