NJ Weighs Smoking Ban at Beaches and Parks

TRENTON, N.J.

New Jersey lawmakers are considering a bill that would ban smoking in public beaches and parks, The Associated Press reported. An Assembly committee approved the proposal Thursday morning, sending it to the full Assembly, where a final vote has not been scheduled. Violators would be fined $250 for a first offense, $500 for a second offense and $1,000 for subsequent ones.
