Merchant Admits Smuggling Piranhas Into NYC

NEW YORK -

A tropical fish merchant smuggled more than 39,000 man-eating piranhas into New York City, mislabeling them as common aquarium fish, Newsday reported. Transship Discounts Ltd., agreed to pay $73,000 in fines for selling the piranhas, which are illegal in New York City and more than two dozen states.
