NJ Tot Left on Cold School Bus for Nearly 6 Hours

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J.

A New Jersey school bus driver was fired after leaving a 3-year-old on his bus in bitter cold weather for nearly six hours on Tuesday, the Courier News reported. The toddler got on the bus at 8 a.m. and was not discovered until 2 p.m. The bus company said the driver ignored a child reminder system that requires the driver to walk to the back of the bus to disable an alarm. Instead, he opened and closed the back door from the outside to disable the alarm. The boy’s mother said he seems fine.
