Company Fined $160K for Violating NY Bottle Law

A New Jersey beverage distributor was fined nearly $160,000 for repeatedly violating New York’s bottle law, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced Wednesday. FID Distributors pocketed nearly $412,000 in unclaimed 5-cent deposits for almost two years. The law requires the company to send 80 percent of the unclaimed deposit money to the state.
