Christie Issues Pocket Veto on Fire Sprinkler Bill

TRENTON, N.J.

Fire sprinklers will not be required in new homes in New Jersey after Gov. Chris Christie on Tuesday allowed a bill that allowed the rule to die, The Associated Press reported. Supporters said the law would save lives while opponents said the requirement would drive up costs and make it more difficult for residents to build homes.
