Mayor’s Driver Suspended for Thruway Speeding

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -

The security guard for Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren has been suspended without pay for a week after being pulled over twice for speeding on the Thruway while driving the Mayor to and from Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s State of the State speech, Associated Press reported. In a letter Thursday to the city’s deputy mayor, retired state trooper Reggie Hill apologizes for what he calls his “lack of judgment” for breaking Interstate 90’s 65 mph speed limit while driving Mayor Warren to and from Albany on Jan. 8. Hill, who is Warren’s uncle, retired this month after 30 years with the state police and was hired as her security guard when she took office Jan. 1.
