Cuomo Seeking Republican Support for Reelection

Nervous that Gov. Andrew Cuomo is prying away Republican county chairs for his reelection effort this November, state GOP Chairman Edward Cox on Monday released a statement asking them to “resist the administration’s well-known strong-arm tactics.” Cox wrote that “after seven years and three Democratic governors, New York remains the most taxed, most regulated, least economically free state in America with the highest outmigration and the most debt per capita, just as we were when Andrew Cuomo took office.” Westchester County Chairman Rob Astorino is considering a run on the Republican ticket, and Donald Trump has said he would run if elected without a primary.
