Ice Jam Poses Flood Threat Along Delaware River
Officials are predicting minor flooding along the Delaware River in two states because of an ice jam. The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Mercer County in New Jersey and Bucks County in Pennsylvania after the river clogged with ice in Trenton during record-breaking cold temperatures earlier this week, and there’s concern what will happen downstream when the ice starts to melt. Forecasters say the river is just below flood stage at 20 feet in Trenton.
