NJ Panel Approves Home Fire Sprinkler Bill
New homes in New Jersey require fire sprinklers, a Senate committee on Monday said in approving the measure, The Associated Press reported. It awaits a vote in the full chamber. The bill would not apply to mobile homes or homes not connected to a public water system. Supporters say the bill would save lives while opponents say the requirement would drive up costs and make it more difficult for residents to build homes.
