Moetzes Trip, Mass Rally Postponed

YERUSHALAYIM

The trip that was to be taken next week by the members of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisrael in Eretz Yisrael to the United States, as well as the mass rally that had been scheduled for next Tuesday have been postponed — for now.

In a statement, the organizers stressed that “regretfully, the reason for which the Gedolim were planning to travel to America — to raise a hue and cry over the dangerous attempts to uproot religion in Eretz Yisrael—is still extant.”

Enormous effort was invested in organizing the trip and the planned mass rally.

“Thankfully, the intentions of the Gedolim to make the trip brought about a great awakening and deepening of the bond between American Jewry and their brethren in Eretz Yisrael, underscored their concern about what is transpiring and resulted in a unification of the ranks in order to transform the trip from a plan to a reality.”

The organizers said that the news of the trip also alerted government and official establishment entities in both Israel and in the United States and the powerful consequences of the trip led these entities to request that they be given another opportunity to try and prevent the anti-religious laws.

“Perhaps this will obviate the need of Gedolei Yisrael to make the trip in the original format, with all that it entailed.

“And therefore, the trip has been postponed for now, with the deep hope and prayer that Hashem will bestow a spirit of purity and open the eyes of those who have strayed to see that they have erred. Gedolei Yisrael have only the future of Klal Yisrael and the uncompromising preservation of the Torah in this generation in mind. When it is a time of tzaar for Am Yisrael, they will not rest, and we all hope for deliverance in the very near future.

“Once again, it must be emphasized: we have no shiyur, nothing in our lives, except Torah, and the Word of Hashem will prevail,” the statement concluded.
