Decision Expected Monday on Site for Mass Rally

NEW YORK

As organizers await approval of requisite legal permits, an Edison, New Jersey venue is now the likely choice to host the mass rally that will be the highlight of the trip to the U.S. by members of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisrael in Eretz Yisrael.

The site, a massive complex with 585,000 square feet of indoor space, can easily seat more than 50,000 people. Current plans call for tens of thousands on ground level, as well as seating on bleachers in the 38-foot-high structure.

An earlier plan for the rally to take place in a huge heated tent fell through after authorities expressed concerns about security.

As previously reported, this historic trip is intended to communicate to American Jewry what is really transpiring in Eretz Yisrael, and educate the public about the true facts regarding the ongoing injustice to and harassment of chareidi Jewry in Eretz Yisrael.

The rally is scheduled to take place, b’ezras Hashem, on Tuesday evening, Parashas Beshalach — January 7.

Askanim, who have been negotiating with local officials, are hopeful that they will receive a green light from the authorities on Monday, at which time a final decision about the venue is expected to be made.

Tickets for the event are expected to go on sale in the coming days.
