Former Gov. Paterson Rules Out Run Against Rep. Rangel

NEW YORK -

Former Gov. David Paterson on Tuesday said he has “no intention of running for Congress … either now or in the future,” ruling out a run for Rep. Charlie Rangel’s seat. For months, the ex-governor, who currently serves as an MTA board member and radio host, has suggested he might be interested in running if Rangel, who has served for 45 years, retires. But he now plans on endorsing Rangel, who has not yet announced his intentions for next year, in an expected rematch next year with state Sen. Adriano Espaillat.
