GOP ‘Young Guns’ Induct Three N.Y. House Candidates

WASHINGTON

Former Rep. Nan Hayworth and state Sen. Lee Zeldin were inducted into the national Republican Party’s “Young Guns” program, a conservative group headed by Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) that is supposed to represent a more youthful party. Hayworth, who represented Kiryas Joel, lost last year to Democrat Sean Patrick Maloney, and Zeldin is challenging Rep. Tim Bishop in Long Island.
