N.J. Senate Confirms Supreme Court Nominee
A Cuban-American judge was confirmed unanimously to the state Supreme Court Monday, making Faustino Fernandez-Vina New Jersey’s only Hispanic justice.
The only other Christie pick to advance came in 2011, after waiting a year to be confirmed. Two others remain stalled, and two others were rejected outright by Senate Democrats. Christie received the news as he was heading to Arizona, where he will become chairman of the Republican Governors Association later this week.
