NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -

Democrat Cory Booker will start his service as the newest U.S. senator next Tuesday, when Vice President Joe Biden will swear him in at noon at the U.S. Capitol.

Booker was elected last week to complete the 15 remaining months of Sen. Frank Lautenberg, who died in June. He will become the second African-American in the Senate.
