Duke of Windsor’s Cadillac Coming to NYC Auction

A 1941 Cadillac custom-built for the Duke and Duchess of Windsor is heading for a New York City auction. Dubbed “The Duchess,” it features four jewelry cases and three cigar lighters, and is estimated to bring $500,000 to $800,000 on Nov. 21.

General Motors delivered the limousine to the Windsors at the Waldorf Astoria, where the duke paid $14,000 for it.

One of the first Cadillacs to have power windows, it’s being sold with the car title bearing the duke’s signature.
