White Couple Attacked By Youths Yelling Racial Slurs

NEW YORK (AP) —

A white couple driving in Brooklyn last week was attacked by a group of black teenagers yelling racial epithets, police revealed Monday. They were trying to drive through a green light Oct. 14 as the teens crossed the street. The driver honked, and some teens pounded on the car.

A criminal complaint says the wife, who was the driver, got out, and the teens attacked her as they screamed anti-white slurs. When her husband got out to defend her he was also attacked. The couple was treated at a hospital.

Police are investigating the case as a possible bias crime. So far, Brooklyn prosecutors have charged two teens with gang assault. Police are looking for about six others.
