Israelis in municipalities across the country go to the polls on Tuesday to choose their mayors and local council members for the next five years.

Voting is carried out by hand. Voters can cast a white ballot for a party slate for the local council, and a yellow one for mayor or council head.

Almost every city and town in Israel will participate in the elections, from the biggest cities such as Yerushalayim, Tel Aviv, and Haifa to smaller localities like Beitar, Ashdod and Zichron Yaakov.

Voting commences at 7:00 a.m. and continues until 10:00 p.m.

Hamodia will, iy”H, publish the available results in Wednesday’s edition.
