IBM Buys Irish Software Provider, No Terms
IBM is acquiring The Now Factory, a privately held software analytics company, for an undisclosed sum.
The Irish company’s software gives communications service providers real-time information about their customers by analyzing massive quantities of network and business data.
The Now Factory will complement IBM’s own division that helps companies analyze their customers’ mobile device usage.
Demand for such analytical software has been rising due to the global shift to mobile devices that have strained networks, IBM said.
The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter. Once that happens, The Now Factory will become part of IBM’s software group.
