Cox Re-elected State GOP Chairman

ALBANY (AP) —

New York State Republican Party chairman Ed Cox was unanimously re-elected to his post at a state party meeting on Tuesday. The lawyer and longtime party activist was first sworn in as chairman of the state Republican Party in 2009.

Cox’s first task of his new term will be helping Republican Joe Lhota in the race for New York City mayor. Polls show Lhota trailing Democrat Bill de Blasio.
