10 Unlicensed Cabbies Arrested at JFK

NEW YORK (AP) —

Port Authority police say 10 unlicensed taxi drivers were arrested during a crackdown at New York’s Kennedy International Airport.

The operation targeted illegal cabbies who take advantage of travelers arriving at the airport. The unlicensed taxi drivers often charge much more than an authorized driver would.

Police say 10 drivers were arrested on charges including unlawful solicitation of ground transportation.

One man is facing a reckless endangerment charge. Police say he drove recklessly in an attempt to flee.

They say another men resisted arrest and tried to run away. Two officers suffered minor injuries while chasing the suspects.
