NJ Sen. Candidate Lonegan Against Action In Syria

PARAMUS, N.J.

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Steve Lonegan says he opposes military action in Syria.

Lonegan says the U.S. should issue humanitarian aid. He says launching a missile or bombing Syria will create further chaos and instability in the Middle East.

Standing outside an Assyrian Orthodox church, Lonegan says military action will further displace Christians and other minorities.

Lonegan says he does not support Bashar al-Assad, but the United States doesn’t need another war.

Lonegan’s opponent Cory Booker says military action should be a last resort and inspectors should be given as much time as possible to complete their jobs.

Booker says that way there will be strong international support if the U.S. acts with its allies.
