‘Christie’ Cockroach Wins Annual Race

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) -

Gov. Chris Christie might have little to cheer about in regard to his cockroach’s victory in the 17th New Jersey Cockroach Derby. A Madagascar hissing cockroach representing the Republican easily beat another representing Democrat Barbara Buono on Thursday.

While Christie holds a strong lead over Buono, the insects have not done well in predicting the outcome of elections. Roaches representing Mitt Romney and John McCain won previous races, but the candidates lost decisively in the real polls.
