Kosel-Bound Bus Pelted With Rocks

Palestinian Arabs threw stones at an Egged bus traveling to the Kosel Tuesday, injuring more than a dozen people and causing serious damage to the bus.
Attacks by rock-throwers on buses and cars in the Old City have been on the rise. Every time there is talk of renewed negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, local Arabs respond with violence, especially in the area of Damascus Gate.
In Tuesday’s incident, a No. 1 bus was attacked in the late afternoon, near the Kosel.
Attackers threw a barrage of stones at the bus, shattering most of its windows, according to the Jerusalem Post.
The driver sped forward, bringing the bus to a post manned by soldiers and police at Dung Gate. Four people were treated for light injuries, four people taken to the hospital and nine were treated for shock, said police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld.
The suspects fled the scene, and no arrests have as yet been made. Rosenfeld said that the assault is under investigation and arrests are expected.
Ichud Hatzolah arrived and administered first aid to the injured.
