NY Drops ATM Requirement to List Fees

ALBANY (AP) —

New York is following the federal government in dropping the requirement to post signs at automated teller machines disclosing their potential fees. Sponsors say that ATMs are already required to disclose fees on their screens once the transaction has been initiated, making the requirement redundant and outdated.

The measure was signed last week by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and is effective immediately.
