Lakewood Driver Crashes Into Lot, Damages 8 Cars
Charges have been filed against an illegal immigrant who lost control of his car and crashed into a Lakewood auto dealership, damaging eight vehicles.
Ruben Sanchez, 28, was driving on Ocean Avenue when he crashed into Autos 4 Less at around 2:15 a.m. Saturday. He and a male passenger fled the scene and tried to hide in some bushes, but both men were found a short time later by police dogs.
Autos 4 Less salesman Shane Trautwein said he knows accidents can happen but the scale of this was shocking. “There was glass over practically every car in the lot,” he said.
