Crash Kills Four Near Kiryat Gat, Injures Dozens

The collision of a bus and truck near Kiryat Gat, south of Tel Aviv, left four people dead and some 30 injured on Sunday afternoon, according to media reports.

An initial police investigation suggested that the driver of the Metropoline bus was at fault for hitting the truck parked on the roadside. Both the drivers of the bus and truck involved in the accident on Route 6 were released after being questioned under warning. Meanwhile, their licenses were revoked.

Two of the four killed were identified on Sunday evening as IDF soldiers Corporal Chai Ben-Naim, z”l, 19, of Rishon Letzion, and First Sergeant Kfir Dahari, z”l, 22, of Yavne. The other victims had not yet been named.

United Hatzalah medics provided primary medical care to two of the more seriously injured before they were evacuated by helicopter to Ichilov Hospital.
