Man Rescued After Falling Into Drain to Retrieve Phone
Two police officers on Long Island rescued a 25-year-old man who had fallen into a storm drain while trying to retrieve his cellphone.
The man accidentally dropped his cellphone down a storm drain in Medford just after 6:30 p.m. Monday. When he tried to retrieve it, he slipped and fell into the drain’s holding tank and became trapped. Luckily, he had a second cellphone with him and used it to call 911.
Two officers used a saw and a ladder to free the victim, who was not injured.
