Crop Prices Mostly Higher, Gold and Silver Rise

NEW YORK (AP) —

Corn and soybean futures rose Tuesday, as did gold, silver and other metals.

Corn for December delivery rose 7.25 cents to settle at $5.1075 a bushel Tuesday. November soybeans rose 22.5 cents to $12.8625 a bushel. September wheat was unchanged at $6.695 a bushel.

Metals closed higher.

Gold for August delivery rose $6.90 to $1,290.40 an ounce. Silver for September delivery rose 9.6 cents to $19.935 an ounce. September copper rose 4.2 cents to $3.1865 a pound, October platinum rose $3.70 to $1,425.10 an ounce and September palladium rose $3.45 to $735.60 an ounce.
