Fisherman Struck by Lightning, Lives to Tell the Tale

ISLAND BEACH STATE PARK, N.J. (AP) -

A New Jersey fisherman survived after being struck by lightning on Island Beach State Park just as officials were in the process of evacuating because of a fast-moving thunderstorm Tuesday. The Berkeley resident complained about numbness in his legs. He is in stable condition at Jersey Shore Medical Center.

Meanwhile, Daniel Quirk, 26, of Dutchess County died Tuesday at Albany Medical Center a week after he was struck by lightning at a state park in the Hudson Valley.
