Insurance Help Coming to Upstate NY After Flooding
Gov. Andrew Cuomo has dispatched a mobile command center from the state’s Department of Financial Services to help the survivors of upstate New York’s recent flooding handle their insurance claims.
Gov. Cuomo says representatives from the state agency will be in Herkimer County to help people whose homes and businesses were damaged by recent flooding and heavy rains.
The mobile command center will be stationed in the Remington Arms parking lot in Ilion Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
People with questions about insurance claims and paperwork can call the DFS Disaster hotline. That number is 1-800-339-1759.
The Mohawk Valley region was hit hard by recent storms. On Monday, Gov. Cuomo requested federal disaster declaration for 15 counties where roads and infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
