YERUSHALAYIM

The General Security Service (GSS) and the IDF last month arrested three Palestinian operatives on charges of involvment in the shooting death of an Israeli man and the wounding of five others near Kever Yosef in Shechem two years ago.

Ben Yosef Livnat, Hy”d, was killed on April 24, 2011, near the site after he and a group of mispallelim entered to daven at the kever.

The three Palestinians were detained and questioned by the GSS after they were released by the Palestinian Authority two months ago. They had served two years in a Palestinian jail for the offense of firing their weapons into the air.

The suspects have been identified as Nawaf Fahd Bnei Uda, Waal Daoud, and Tarkhi Zoara. All three men perform routine patrols for the PA’s security apparatus.

Two other Palestinians allegedly involved in the shooting are wanted for questioning. One of them is still in a Palestinian prison after being sentenced by PA courts, while another is in hiding in a PA security compound.

According to authorities, the detained suspects acknowledged shooting in the direction of Livnat. Investigators also determined that the three men coordinated their stories before being questioned.
