Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder has visited a preschool in the Mediterranean seaside city of Netanya as he continues a trade mission to Israel.

Snyder stopped Tuesday at the New Beginnings Program and Early Childhood Initiative. The program is supported by the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.

The governor also is attending the country’s annual Presidential Conference in Yerushalayim. President Shimon Peres is hosting the event, with the theme “Facing Tomorrow.”

Snyder says he last visited Israel 14 years ago and that he’s asking Israeli companies and government leaders to consider doing business in Michigan.

Snyder has met with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Trade Minister Naftali Bennett.
