Peres’ 90th Birthday Celebrated

President Shimon Peres’ 90th birthday celebration began Monday evening at the Peres Academic Center in Rehovot where former U.S. President Bill Clinton addressed a gathering of Israeli ministers, Knesset members and other dignitaries.

Clinton lauded Peres as a great visionary of the world.

The former president pledged that he would donate his six-figure lecture fee to a scholarship fund for the institution’s students.

The main event is to be held Tuesday, an international extravaganza featuring over 5,000 guests from 20 countries, including four Nobel Prize winners and six presidents.

The events is expected to be covered by 500 news media teams.
